WALKING THROUGH A WONDERFUL WEEKEND

For today’s post I thought I would walk you through a great experience I had recently over in Ireland. I went with Lyds to Carton House Hotel which is a Fairmont managed hotel offering an incredible luxury experience. It’s an 18th Century Manor House on 1,100 acre grounds.

This estate is home to two world class championship 18 hole golf courses (that was me already sold), the Carton House Spa and a range of fine dining with horse riding, clay pigeon shooting and archery a short walk away.

Whilst there a numerous places to eat on the estate, the first night there we went with Kathleen’s  Kitchen. The room still has it’s cast iron stoves  from the 1700s so it’s filled with loads of character. The history of Carton House spans more than eight centuries but their food is far from old fashioned or outdated. Take a look at the menus yourself!

Lyds and I stayed in the seasonal suite traditionally used as the Autumn/Winter room when lived in by previous owners of the estate.

Luckily I did manage to get out on the Golf courses as I’ve just confirmed a big Golf event for the end of March (keep an eye out on my channels for that). I’d always heard that Ireland was home to some of the world’s best courses and my experience at Carton House didn’t disappoint (even though my golf game did).

I think my favourite part was the whisky tasting in their Whisky Library. Now I like to think I’ve got a decent selection of whisky at home but it’s an experience like this that makes you realise how incredible the collections are at these amazing locations. Beautiful whiskies served in a stunningly character filled room. I’m taking lot’s of interiors inspiration from here.

Head over to Lydias  YouTube channel where you can catch footage of what this incredible weekend looked like…and also some bad horse riding by myself.
