I’ve talked about this far too much on here already but I’ll say it again…the weather makes such a huge difference!
I’m in my element here pottering about in the garden. It feels good to have alone time with a focus on a goal which is in this case maintaining the garden.
I feel a bit like a smaller sized version of Clarkson’s farm. We’ve got veg coming through in front of a new greenhouse and the bees progressing nicely.
Without trying to sound profound, it’s getting away from screens and the pace of everyday life and being at one with what is around you.
These moments with nature give you such a boost and when you see the result at the end of your work you feel a great sense of accomplishment.
The Millen-Gordon farm is going to be producing quite the range veg…although we won’t have a farm shop and we are going down the self serve route rather than selling anything homegrown. Don’t think we’re growing quite enough for wholesale.
There’s a lot of hard work that went into these areas in order for me to be able to enjoy days like this. Probably around 6-8 months.
I couldn’t be happier with how the garden is looking at the moment. I would love to hear if having spent more time at home & around nature have you grown to love the more simple things in life?
